    ABOUT
    I have been in private practice since 2002, from Harley Street to the Hale Clinic. I work with clients to restore their confidence and self-worth, where anxiety has entered their lives manifesting in phobias, negative thinking, relationship insecurities, work and exam stress or a general fear of not being good enough. I help people to learn to truly like themselves and to resolve any negative thought patterns that have been holding them back.

    Using rational forms of Integrative Psychotherapy, including CBT, EMDR and Hypnotherapy, I can give you the self-belief that you need, to push yourself to finally achieve your goals, no matter how big or small. I am passionate in helping people to gain back control and, ultimately, to feel completely good enough!

     Last night with the Tube strike, I had to take 3 buses to get back home. The second bus I took was so crowded with so many angry and tired passengers wanting to get home! If I hadn't had the afternoon session with you, I would have left the bus after the first couple of minutes! The bus was driving slowly for at least 15 minutes before it stopped at a bus stop and the doors opened so we had a bit of fresh air! All the way through for about 35 minutes I was telling myself everything will be fine and nothing bad will happen and still there is oxygen for all of us! When I got to my stop and I got out of the bus, it felt good. Last night I had a good night sleep too.

     Since my sessions with you I've been down to Bournemouth 4 times, twice with another adult, once with just my kids and on Monday I went there and back in one day by myself.   I would say that my phobia has been sorted as I am not anxious prior to motorway journeys and or when I see the blue motorway signs.  I'm indifferent when lorries are nearby and as for fly-overs I'm whizzing over them by the dozen.  I do feel a lot more confident, perhaps not as confident as I was in my twenties when I spent the whole journey in the fast lane, but maybe that's a good thing.   Thank you for your help, I will certainly recommend you to any friends who I hear have phobias.

     I am finding your sessions really useful - and feel a lot calmer in myself and more positive - also realising that as a human being I do have faults and bad points has helped to ground me a bit more. I also helped a friend of mine - talking to her about assertive behaviour rather than aggressive behaviour… She told me the result had been amazing… I think explaining it to someone else has helped to reinforce it in my mind too! Thanks again for all your support and help 

    Improving communication, 2009

     I did do the exam and managed to pass with a distinction. I received my results only yesterday. I have taken some time out, although I did enrol on a maths course and sat an exam… although I actually don't remember consciously deciding to put myself through another exam after the trauma of the law one, I must have done because I found myself back at college again!   Somewhere in the back of my mind I felt that this was something that I really needed to put to bed and settle. In some small way, I do feel that I have managed to tie up some loose ends. I have also managed to find myself a job for a couple of days a week in a local law firm and have been putting what I have learnt so far into practice and also sitting in on court proceedings.   In the meantime, thank you for all your help so far. I will be sure to let you know how I get on!

     I just wanted to let you know that our sessions really helped and I just did my first public speaking event and loved it! I was too terrified to do this before and it was holding me back so thank you, thank you, thank you!

     All your good work has not gone to waste. I have just got back from India! I went on my own and spent two weeks in Goa doing a chakra balancing and yoga workshop… Its been such a magical experience...so thank you so much. I am so amazed that i managed it all. I do still get anxious but I realise now that it is something i will get through and alot of it is habit. I also realised that I do not need my partner for my survival!!! Our relationship seems so much better now that I have found a new courage and strength in myself.

    As part of the First Cut Channel 4 documentary My Baggy Body I successfully worked with Sarah to help her come to terms with not having achieved the 'perfect body'. Like Sarah, many people obsess over how they look, for all different reasons, which culminates from the social 'dis-ease' spreading through many generations and cultures, resulting in a compulsion to be 'media-beautiful'. Thousands of pounds, hours and tears are spent on this obsession, when, ultimately, it is all based on a lie we tell ourselves and others.
